Acceptable use policy
Last updated 16 October 2026
Draft. This document is not yet in force and is being reviewed before EventTickets launches.
EventTickets is for running real events honestly. This policy sets out what we don't allow. It's part of our terms of service.
Events we don't allow
- Events that are illegal, or that you don't have the licences, permissions or insurance to run
- Events that don't exist, or that you have no intention of running
- Events that promote violence, terrorism, hatred or discrimination against people
- Sexual services, or sexually explicit events where that's not lawful
- The sale of weapons, drugs or other illegal or restricted goods, including as add-ons
- Fundraising that isn't for the cause it claims
- Reselling tickets to someone else's event without their permission
Selling honestly
- Describe your event, its line-up, venue, prices and conditions accurately
- Show the right age limit and check ID where the law requires it
- Don't use fake scarcity, such as saying an event has sold out when it hasn't
- Refund buyers when your event is cancelled
Respecting buyers
- Only send marketing to buyers who have agreed to receive it
- Don't sell or hand your buyer list to anyone else without a lawful basis
- Keep buyers' details safe and only use them for what you told them
Using the platform
- Don't try to get into accounts, data or systems that aren't yours
- Don't test our security except as described on our security page
- Don't overload the service, get around rate limits or interfere with other organisers' on-sales
- Don't scrape EventTickets, or use bots to buy tickets
- Don't resell EventTickets itself without a partner agreement with us
- Don't upload anything you don't have the rights to, or that contains malware
If this policy is broken
We may take an event off sale, refund buyers, hold payouts, or suspend or close the account involved. Where we can, we'll explain why and give you a chance to fix things first. We may report illegal activity to the authorities.
If you see an event on EventTickets that you think breaks this policy, please tell us.
