Cookie policy
Last updated 16 October 2026
Draft. This document is not yet in force and is being reviewed before EventTickets launches.
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar storage, like local storage, works in the same way. We keep these to a minimum and use them to make EventTickets work, not to track you around the web or show you ads.
What we use
| Where | What | Why |
|---|---|---|
| eventtickets.dev (this website) | None | We count page views without cookies and without identifying you. |
| Dashboard (app.) | Sign-in cookies | Keep you signed in to your organisation. Essential. |
| Checkout (pay.) | Queue cookie | Keeps your place in the queue and your held tickets while you pay. Essential. |
| Checkout (pay.) | Payment form cookies | Set by Stripe on the payment form to prevent fraud. Essential. |
| Event and checkout pages (pay.) | Visitor ID in browser storage | A random ID that lets the organiser see how many people viewed the event and where sales came from. |
| Door app (door.) | Door session cookie | Keeps a door link unlocked after the PIN is entered. Essential. |
Essential cookies
Essential cookies are needed for things you ask for, like signing in, keeping your place in a queue or paying. They can't be switched off without breaking those features.
The visitor ID on event pages
The visitor ID helps organisers count views and see which links sold tickets. It doesn't identify you by name and isn't shared with advertisers.
For review: Under the UK's cookie rules, storage used for analytics usually needs consent unless an exemption applies. Decide whether to add a consent choice on event pages or rely on an exemption.
Controlling cookies
You can clear or block cookies and browser storage in your browser's settings. If you block essential ones, signing in, queues and checkout may not work.
