Ticket terms
Last updated 16 October 2026
Draft. This document is not yet in force and is being reviewed before EventTickets launches.
These terms apply when you buy or are given a ticket through EventTickets. The organiser of the event may have their own conditions too, shown on their event page or at checkout.
Who you're buying from
You're buying your ticket from the event's organiser, named on the event page and your ticket. The organiser runs the event and is responsible for it. EventTickets, run by [Company name] Ltd, a company registered in [Scotland] with company number [number], whose registered office is at [address], provides the checkout, tickets and door scanning for the organiser and takes payment on their behalf.
For review: Align this with how our role is described in the organiser terms of service.
Buying tickets
- The price you pay is shown at checkout before you pay, including any booking fee.
- For busy on-sales you may be placed in a queue. A place in the queue doesn't guarantee a ticket. When it's your turn, tickets are held for you for a limited time while you pay.
- Your order is confirmed when payment succeeds. Your tickets are then emailed to you and shown on screen.
- Discount codes are set by the organiser and can be limited, for example to certain email addresses.
Your ticket and getting in
- Each ticket has a QR code. It can be scanned in once per day it's valid for, unless the organiser allows re-entry. If a copy of your ticket is scanned first, you may be refused entry, so keep it to yourself.
- You can add your ticket to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. It's the same ticket as the one in your email.
- If an event has an age limit, you'll need photo ID at the door.
- The organiser can refuse entry or remove you under their conditions of entry, for example for unsafe behaviour.
If the event changes
The organiser may need to change details such as the time or venue. We'll update your wallet pass and the organiser should let you know. If the change is significant, contact the organiser about your options.
Refunds
- If the event is cancelled, you'll get a full refund, including the booking fee.
- Otherwise, refunds are up to the organiser and their refund policy. Contact them using the email on your ticket.
- When a ticket is refunded, it stops working and its wallet pass is cancelled.
Because tickets are for an event on a specific date, the usual 14-day right to cancel an online purchase doesn't apply. This doesn't affect your other legal rights.
For review: Confirm the Consumer Contracts Regulations exemption for leisure services on a specific date applies in this setup.
Passing on or reselling tickets
EventTickets doesn't offer ticket transfers or resale. The organiser may refuse entry to tickets resold in breach of their conditions.
Your personal data
The organiser receives your name, email and order details so they can run the event and contact you about it. How we handle your data is explained in our privacy policy.
Responsibility
The organiser is responsible for the event. We're responsible for providing your ticket and processing your payment with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Getting help
For questions about the event, your order or a refund, contact the organiser using the email on your ticket. If you can't reach them, or think something has gone wrong with your payment, contact us.
